Projects in 2015

“brittle bones” project

The Dutch Zeldzame Ziekten Stichting is a foundation that stimulates and funds medical investigations in so called rare diseases. One of their projects in 2015 was OI, osteogenesis imperfecta (“brittle bones”), a disease that causes bone fracture of young born, or even unborn babies. But can regard adult people as well. A promising solution appears to be zinc finger nuclease (ZFN). We contributed to the financing of this project.

SOCO

Minibus
One of the regular projects of the Georgian SOCO foundation, is medical service in remote areas provided by a mobile medical team. The old minivan, used for such missions, but for other purposes as well, no longer could be used. We financed the purchase of a “new” (that is, second hand, but much younger) minivan.
